ProScribe’s research on publication agreements and non-compliance with GPP2 attracted intense interest at the Annual Meeting of the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (Baltimore, MD; April 29 - May 1, 2013). 

Ben Goldacre has stated that it is “...entirely normal for researchers and academics conducting industry-funded trials to sign contracts subjecting them to gagging clauses that forbid them to publish…”.  Is this true? 

At ProScribe’s Annual Meeting! 

During the ISMPP European Meeting (London; January 22-23 2013), the Deputy Editor of the BMJ, Trish Groves, highlighted how she and many other leading journal editors valued the ethics and services of professional medical writers. 

ProScribe has had three abstracts accepted for oral presentations at the ARCS Annual Scientific Congress, Sydney, June 6-7: 

Professor Karen Woolley and her co-authors from the Global Alliance of Publication Professionals have published a thought-provoking editorial that has drawn international attention to poor compliance with results reporting (eg, disclosure in clinicaltrials.gov; publication in peer-reviewed journals). 

Last week, EMWA made a brief, but assertive, statement regarding the ethical practices of professional medical writers (we are NOT ghostwriters!).
